Rouena Swayne EAH Design Comm

Another Ever After High character design commission! These are so fun. 
This design is for who asked if I could come up with a design concept for her character Rouena Swayne, daughter of the Ugly Duckling. What I enjoy about this character is that she may not be "ugly" on the outside, but her personality isn't so pretty. I thought that was a pretty neat idea. If I hadn't known that, I probably would have put her in a shy pose rather than a sassy one. 

For the design, I was told that she should have choppy, uneven hair (like Piper from Heroes of Olympus if you know that series) with feathers braided in, as well that her outfit should take inspiration from a swan and a rouen duck. (Confession: I used the colours from the male duck more than the female.... The females are basically all the same coulour! The males, of course, have that pretty green head.) Both the male and female rouen duck have this blue stripe of feathers on their wings, outlined in white feathers. I thought that stripe looked a bit like a ribbon... so I thought why not make it into a ribbon on her dress! I also decided to put the duck related aspects on the outer layer of the dress while the swan aspects are underneath that, because in the fairy tale, of course, everyone's supposed to think that the ugly duckling is a duck until it transforms into a swan. So best keep that swan bit hidden underneath. 

Designing characters for people makes me a bit nervous, so I really hope you like her, A-m-a-Z-e-M-e-n-T-S !!!
